Our latest series 'Into The Blue' seems to have been very well received and we have had numerous enquiries regaring a possible Volume 3 which would be GVF162. At the moment a final decision hasn't been made but we are looking at the possibility of focusing on the Midlands for a possible third volume.

Shoud anyone have any thoughts or suggestions we would be happy to hear from them.

Sadly, the ill-fated 2015 'Great Britain VIII' tour of the UK by steam was ultimately diesel-hauled for much of it's journey.

Saturday 21st March 2015 was a busy day on the Settle & Carlisle route. Roger Geach travelled up to take the following images.

46115 'Scots Guardsman' is seen at Carlisle waiting to depart with the 1Z87 14:40 Carlisle-Euston 'Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express'.

Jubilee 45690 'Leander' is now in black livery and seen passing Kirkby Stephen with 1Z90 06:26 Tyseley-Carlisle 'Cumbrian Jubilee'.

Diesels were also in evidence this day as 66192 passes Kirkby Stephen with the 05:20 Hunterston-Fiddlers Ferry Power Station.

A hot spell of weather is always welcome but brings it's problems for steam train operators.

The Scarborough Spa Express of 29th July 2014 is seen at Scarborough behind the impeccably turned out Class 47 No 47580,

a replacement for the booked steam loco due to fire risk.
